Equine Wire Fence

LF-106 (MIGACOAT)

Wire that horses can touch safely.

Equine Fence Wire is a permanent fencing solution that uses 12.5-gauge pre-straightened, galvanised high-tensile wire embedded in a durable polymer coating. This design creates a safer and more visible wire fence. The coated design eliminates the risk of slicing or cutting injuries — it installs like high-tensile wire and is engineered for long-term durability.

  • Safer than smooth or barbed wire
  • 2× stronger than comparable wire
  • Good visibility — polymer coating
  • Non-electric as standard — electrifiable
  • 4,200 lbs minimum break strength

Features

Safer. Stronger. More visible.

Safer. Stronger. More visible.
01

Safer than smooth or barbed wire

The polymer coating eliminates the risk of slicing or cutting injuries. No exposed metal edges, no barbs, no abrasion surface. Horses that contact the fence are not at risk of laceration — the coated wire is a contact-safe boundary.

02

2× stronger — high-tensile galvanised core

12.5-gauge pre-straightened, galvanised high-tensile wire delivers wire-class structural strength. The galvanised core resists corrosion. The high-tensile specification maintains tension under the temperature variation and load of full-outdoor deployment.

03

Good visibility — colour-coated polymer

The polymer coating creates a fence that is significantly more visible than standard high-tensile wire. Wide, coloured polymer surface provides a clear visual boundary that horses learn and respect — reducing approach and collision risk.

Colours

Three colours. Consistent over time.

White

High contrast against pasture — recommended for most properties.

Brown

Lower visual profile — suited to timber or scrubland backgrounds.

Black

Bold and modern. Strong contrast on all terrain types.

Installation

Tension it right. Leave it alone.

Installs like high-tensile wire with standard post drivers and wire strainer tools. All ends and corners must be braced and concreted.

01

Mark post positions at 2.4 m – 3.0 m spacing. Set corner and end posts in concrete at 900 mm minimum depth. All non-straight ends and corners must be braced and concreted.

02

Allow concrete to cure fully (48 hrs min). Drive line posts to depth and confirm vertical alignment.

03

Fit Straight Attaching Insulated Buckles (A) onto line posts at required wire heights for line-post insulation.

04

Run wire from the anchor end outward through each insulated buckle on the line posts to the opposite end.

05

Use the Mini Spooler (B) to complete tensioning — place onto the coated wire where desired. Apply tension progressively from top wire to bottom.

06

Use Joining Buckles (D) to join wire sections without stripping or crimping. For electrified runs, connect energiser to wire at strainer post.

Tension it right. Leave it alone.
